Jaimie Robert's FORBIDDEN DESIRES: Book Blitz/Tour

Daughter, covet not thy mother’s husband.
Isn’t that a saying?

I know it isn’t, but in my case it really should be.

Because, in my case, I didn’t just walk up to the line, I crossed so far over it that I can no longer recall how I got there in the first place.
What line did I soar over? The line leading up to him.
Owen Montgomery: Rich … powerful … fucking amazing in bed.
Oh, and he’s married to my mother.
I didn’t seek this out as a way of life, but once I had my first taste of it—and him—handed to me on a glistening silver platter, I felt I owed it to myself to enjoy every delicacy offered to me while I could.
I suppose I should have known that my guilty pleasures couldn’t possibly last forever, and when our relationship took a decidedly nasty turn, I was left feeling utterly dejected.
Guided by my resentment, I threw caution to the wind and allowed myself to fall into the arms of another man.
Not just any man. The man in question is none other than Ethan—Owen’s absentee son.
After Owen left me so bitter, I realized that Ethan represented the ultimate escape … and I must admit, revenge.
Why not? He’s gorgeous, charming, and witty to boot.

As an added bonus, he’s single.

But … Owen has other ideas. He has decided that no other man can have me but him.
I am his … and he will stop at nothing to keep it that way.

Wonderland Academy: Book One
by Melanie Karsak
Publication date: August 27th 2019
Genres: Fairy Tales, Fantasy, Retelling, Young Adult

Welcome to Wonderland Academy. Don't lose your head.

Getting into Wonderland Academy is easy:

You must be a little mad.
You must follow the white rabbit.
You must find the key to enter Wonderland.
You must not be named Alice or risk being beheaded by order of the Queen of Hearts.
We might have an issue with that last one.

My name may be Alice, but Wonderland Academy is everything my real life isn't. Who wouldn't want to learn how to ride a jabberwocky, train with a vorpal sword, cast spells using a teacup, or shapeshift into a fairy? As long as no one figures out my real name, I should be fine.

The only problem? Aden, the Queen of Hearts' son, is quickly becoming my best friend. And then there's Corbin. Brooding, surly, tattooed, and definitely not my type, I can't stop thinking about him. But Corbin has secrets of his own, and Wonderland and secrets don't mix.

How I'm going to pass my classes and protect my secret like my life depends on it is beyond me. But I better find a way. Because in Wonderland, no Alice is safe.
Wonderland Academy re-imagines the fantastical world of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland for a fresh, new adventure. Combining whimsy, magic, and a splash of steampunk, New York Times best-selling author Melanie Karsak invites you into this beautifully re-envisioned fairy tale adventure.

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read.
Some of my favorite titles are Pride and

Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

Laney Wylde is enamored with all things southern California--the traffic, smog, surprise earthquakes, and nonindigenous palm trees. Consequently, it's the landscape her strong and sometimes lovable female leads paint their stories on. Her New Adult novels Never Touched and the After Twelve series are bright with provocative themes, steamy romance, and inappropriately timed humor.

When Laney isn't writing, she's singing Taylor Swift with her little boy or asking her husband not to tell her about his work as a surgical resident while she's eating. She daydreams about using her math degree to get into law school, then realizes that would be too much work and that she should just play pretend court on paper instead. While she loves a good book, nothing beats 30 Rock with a bag of popcorn and M&Ms.

Recipe Emotionnel by Indrajeet Dasgupta: A Poetry Review

Recipe Emotionnel
by Indrajeet Dasgupta

Early morning love and lust, the fond smell of home,
Ruffled sheets, hair, and wear, the plunge in scented foam.
Cheery breakfast, joyous laughs and kisses for the day,
On your way to work or war, not a nerve did fray.

Your mind is joyful, full of zest, and then it hits you bare,
The worldly noise, traffic and voice, and fetid urban air.
The first flushes of pinkish anger wafting through your mind,
"This hanging wire right above, are these guys so blind?!"

The office elevators warrant morning smiles, you talk to many more,
By the time you reach your desk, it's work and work galore!
Through the day they sneak in and out, all the emotions here,
Regret, guilt, hate, contempt, shock, and pure fear.

That then is your average day of what they call work,
On your way back, your joyous feet test the engine torque.
The wife seems happy, joyful kids rush to meet and hug,
Paradise found! Is what you say at the gentle, hearty tug.

At dinner, it's tender talk, contentment, and pleasure,
All the world can take a break, this bliss the real treasure!
A lively meal, wife's sweet desserts and a dash of jealousy,
The neighbor’s lawn has a snowball bush - did you even see?

The poem, ''Recipe Emotionnel'' is a narrative type of contemporary poetry. It is one of the collection of poems written by Indrajeet Dasgupta in his book, "Borderless." The author tries to illustrate various kinds of emotions that can overwhelm an individual in his day-to-day experience - at home, in the workplace, on the streets, in the neighborhood, etc. These emotions vary in kind and degree depending on the persons, conditions, and situations we have encountered.
A common reader can relate to the poem as it is written in simple language which is easy to understand. It does not make use of high-sounding or lofty words like those used in traditional classic poems. Likewise, the manner of writing is spontaneous where the author has seemingly written his thoughts as they flow.
Anyone can also share with the author's description of how one's mood can change from the joy and happiness of being with one's family as he started out with "Cheery breakfast, joyous laughs and kisses for the day" to the feeling of exasperation and annoyance in facing the challenges of a busy day referring to them as "they sneak in and out, all the emotions here,...Regret, guilt, hate, contempt, shock, and pure fear." The poem clearly shows the turn of emotions that are capitalized in the text.
With regards to the structure of the poem, it has 5 stanzas and follows a rhyming scheme. The speaker addresses his readers, "On your way back, your joyous feet test the engine torque...." making them partakers of the experience. This is a contemporary form of poetry. It uses a narrative technique and visually illustrates the thoughts and feelings of the author in talking about a day in the life of a working individual. The theme is universal as the situations depicted here typically happens to modern-day living. The author was able to perfectly represent the situation as well as the mixed feelings of every person who goes through the same daily encounters.

A Moment of Summer Staycation

We haven't planned this, really. But, since the summer weather has been intolerably hot, we decided to go for a staycation at a nearest hotel. We finally decided on an overnight stay at The Contemporary Hotel.
I booked a deluxe room for us. It has 2 double beds. The staff were kind enough to suggest an extra bed to be prepared also. Of course we had to pay another 1000 on top of the room rate. The room was on the 2nd floor. It was clean,well-lighted  and spacious.

Our window opens up to the hotel's outdoor swimming pool below. The kids were jumping up and down with glee knowing that the swimming pool is open until 10pm. Exactly what they've been wanting to do...swim!
That afternoon, however, students of the Bert Lozada swimming school were there taking their swimming lessons so we just let them finish. For the meantime, we went to buy some chips and dinner at Savemore-Mezza just a few meters away from the hotel. By the time we went back, the swimming lessons were over. It was our turn to own the pool. Use of their swimming pool begins at 8am and ends at 10pm.

The next day breakfast started at 6am, buffet style. Kids 7 years old and below get theirs for free.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience of the hotel.
You may want to check them out too and book your next staycation with them.😍
